Howdy! Noob from Stafford.

I'm looking into purchasing my first bike of my own after being off two wheels since I was a kid. Thought I'd join the forums as a way to get to know the motorcycle scene here in the Houston metro area and maybe find some riding buddies.

Anyway, that's me saying hi!

Heh, you're going to laugh at me, but I'm looking real hard at getting a Zero S or DS. Since it would be for commute and it's about the same as some of the others I was looking at, why not? Plus, it's like a dollar to "fill up. "

I sure hope I don't get thrown out for admitting that, though.

Hi.

I dont know what zero s is so I googled it
Electric motorcycle, no gears, no clutch, fake gas tank, came out in 2010; has had 3 revisions since, cost 14-18 thousand and takes 7.9 hrs to charge.
Lasts 103-137 miles in the city or 53-70 miles at 70mph.

If thats what you like...go for it. But wouldnt you be better off with a scooter if its for commute and cost? Scooters will be a fraction of the price.

electric bikes are cool. I like the mission Ride Smart. that thing has an instant torque from . it cost too much tho. should be cheaper in a decade lol

Welcome and have fun on the bike. Hope you make that bike visible because it will be quiet that's for sure. Don't want people hitting you

Cool

Welcome! I'm a new rider in Stafford as well, I'm more of a gas guzzler type person but I'd love to cruise sometime if you need someone to ride with!

Heh, find me a scooter that can do 90 and not look silly and I might be sold.

But, everybody, thanks so much for the warm welcome and everything!
