got a free bike

My friend gave me a running all original brand new 31 year old bike with not even 900 miles on it. Its a 1983 kawasaki kz550ltd. Think Im going to chop and bob. Anyone got any thoughts

Score! Free bikes are nice. Free bikes that run are awesome. Reminds me of my first road bike, gs550. I had to pay 200 bux and dig it out of the ground that had swallowed it in someones backyard. Fresh gas and some carb cleaner and I was cruising. I sold it 6 months later for 800. Come to think of it that started a chain reaction that has resulted in always having a bike laying around to work on.
Seat sure looks comfy.

+1 keep it original, why destory a low mileage survivor such as that? the KZ series is a very followed bike.

if you do decide to change anything make sure its not so drastic that you cannot put the old bits back on and make it look 100% original again...thats what i do with my bikes.
