if you are unarmed and not a threat pulling a gun is overkill. snd depending on the lawyer you get prolly would be able to get you off if they did. every situation is different of course

If you haven't been searched how do they know you're unarmed? Cite a law that states a cop can't draw his weapon.

An officer can draw his weapon in response to a perceived threat. In the case of a simple traffic stop the officer is not going to approach the stopped vehicle with their gun drawn as a matter of course. In a "felony stop" officers will approach with their weapons drawn (when the violator is suspected of having committed a felony). Reckless driving is a misdemeanor and unless the officer had reason to fear for their safety they wouldn't automatically approach with weapon drawn.

I'm not saying they would. I'm saying they could, and if they did it's not a "get out of jail free card".

But all in all, $500 fine is not bad compared to tx fines.

Wonder why they can do this with a biker speeding, but not a typical police car chase. You'd think it would be a of alot safer to follow from up in the sky..

It's all wrong.

Soon they'll just send you tickets in the mail for any traffic violation they catch. Rolling stop sign, yellow to red light running, etc.

Because a chase is a pursuit and the criminal is attempting to evade.

The dude on the bike wasn't running or evading. He had no clue the police had eyes on him

In this situation...but lets say the police know of a murder suspect that's on the run...can't they just follow him via drone / plane and then arrest the guy instead of flashing their lights and going ape on the public roads?

Does every agency have a drone/plane? Is HPD's chopper always in the air? Do suspects ever get away?

Can't humans just stop committing crimes?

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody hear's it, does it make a sound?

Why don't we just use satellites to bust everybody for every little violation and then send them tickets in the mail?

Sounds like a plan
