New Here. Wating some advise! ZX10, Grom

Whats up guys. I currently own an 08 ZX10r. I got run off the road a few weeks ago and I just got news that her insurance is covering it!! (no collision so I was worried). Anyways there is a chance the bike will be totaled and I have a few questions. Can anyone ballpark what I might get for the bike? 08 ZX10R with 13k miles. WAS in perfect condition, not a scratch.

If they do total it... my plan is to buy it back and fix it myself. It needs oil pan, right side fairings, exhaust, front wheel, tire, and it has a small ding in the frame (which is why they will probably total it), but it wouldn't bother me if I bought it back from insurance. ANYWAYS im thinking about buying a Honda grom with some of the money ill get back and then use the rest to fix the bike. Let me know what yall think. Heres a pic of the ZX10

Talk to Patrick at Motorcycles Unlimited. He can go over the bike for you, and give you advice on insurance. He helped us a lot. The only thing I can say for certain is DO NOT accept their first offer.

Get online and see what ZX10R's are selling for. Get a comparable value for your bike. Don't take less than what you could have sold it for. Good luck.

That's what I keep hearing. Ill make sure and deny the first offer until its at least KBB value. 6,500 is the goal. And to be honest that's what it would take to find an equivalent bike in perfect condition with low miles. I usually have my work done at House Of Paint. The guys there have been awesome to me. Ill check with Motorcycles Unlimited though. Thanks!

Sorry to hear about your bike man. Don't take no less for what it's worth, the other insurance will just try to low ball you and shove you away. Stand your ground.

I've never bought a bike back from the ins. co. ( totaled one a long time ago and it was toast!) Definitely interested in how that goes. Interested in what they value it at AND what they try to sell it back to you for. Good luck glad you weren't hurt!
