I'm very new to this all and have driven my friend's ninjas but i don't have one yet. I'm looking for something cheap for my fist bike maybe an older CBR 600. I'm 18 but by no means drive like an 18 year old I just want a good looking sport bike.

I had considered that but i've driven standard shift cars forever so i understand the concepts already, the first bike I ever drove was a buddy's 999cc something (I don't know bike names too perfectly yet) and I learned to be careful on the throttle pretty fast so I think I could handle it.

its not really about shifting or even throttle. its simply a extremely unforgiving combination. you will make a mistake mistakes on 600 just tend to be more fatal. theres plenty of argument either way. also motorcycles and cars are waaaay different. not even the same game

Welcome to the forum, and hopefully riding

I think you might want to check the insurance rates on a 600 super sport. Im around your age and did not think to much about insurance and its a lot of $

I understand, my point was that I'm not starting fresh, once my friend pointed out the shifter and clutch for the first time it took no explaining. I get what you're saying about the combination being fatal though.

Thanks man, I'll check into it! I drive a trans am and the insurance on it was cheaper than on my f-150 so we'll see.
