Talking Just did the sisters

First time here. Finished a CW run of the sisters at 11:30 am on the dual sport. 100 miles even. Great roads. Almost hit a wild turkey and a large bird of prey of some kind. Deer everywhere early this morning. Counted six crossing the road. Also saw three roadrunner and two wild turkeys. Crazy.

Probably passed less then 6 cars and bikes. Very open out here.

Really a lot of fun. I ran the go pro until
the batteries ran out. Don't know how much I got. Will check when I get home.

Well worth the trip.

Will run it CCW after lunch.

Love teh hill country, glad you're having fun on the new bike. What roads have you hit so far, 335-336-337?

If so you really need to hit 16 into Kerrville, from Leakey take 337 east until it ends at 16 in Medina, turn left and head north to Kerrville, very twisty and fun.

Did all three this morning. 100 mile loop. Ran them clockwise from Leakey. Spent the night in Kerrville. It was 40 degrees when I started this morning. Used the grip warmers on high.

Then if you have time turn left at 27/Main St in Kerrville and stay on it until 39 splits off to the left. Follow 39 all the way to 187 and take a left (south) back to 337. Stop at the motorcycle museum on the way for a drink and break, then turn right at 337 back to Leakey.

39 is a really cool road that crisscrosses the Guadalupe river many times.

If you are passing through Hunt on 39, turn onto FM1340. AWESOME road. When I take it, I turn around a few miles before Hwy41 and ride back towards 39.

How was RR336? Lots of gravel?

Just finished the loop counterclockwise. Great fun. 335 is the best.

Also forgot to add, check out Hwy55

That's a fun one, although it's mostly high speed sweepers. Your 1000 would probably enjoy those more

Took 337 east from Leakey to Medina then 16 North...
Holy , now that's a road. 16N easily the best road I've ridden up here. Reminds me of Waimea canyon or some of the crazy road on 34w from Estes thru the RMNF to the divide. What a great road.

325 miles today on the GS. So much easier to ride distance than the gsxr.

I have a buddy with property on 336, I know those roads well and have done that loop a few times on the bicycle.
