+1 for the 1290, but you know my style. My LC4 has the anti lock brakes, it's startling when it kicks in.

Hands down the best bike I have ever owned. And for those of you that know me, know that I have owned at least 12 different motorcycles in the past 4 years alone.

My RC8 brings a smile to my face every single time I saddle up. It may not have the top speed of other liter bikes, but i assure you it blows them away in the corners and handles much better than them too.

Sorry, I have no mercy for thieves. The only thing I really hope for is that he'ed crippled for life and it causes him to change his life to show other young people what kind of price you will end up paying - sort of like some of those anti-smoking ads. Karma is a be och.
And if it would be a "she" - that doesn't compute in my head. A thiefess is just weird.

Other than that, I hope the rider and bike recover - can a KTM owner please let me know how you think your bike compares to the other brands in the same size catagory...... For some reason KTM just peaks my interest. I don't think this particular KTM rides for anymore, so just tell me about good ones . . . . Seems like the indications on this thread are mostly negative.

I'm going to look them up.

It's rare when I top 150. Usually on 610 after 1:00am. ha. I'm looking for mega-joules (don't debate the application of that word, it gets the point across) of torque and a front end that naturally doesn't like to come up. My Yamaha pops up no matter what I do with suspension, gears, whatever. My GSXRs are about half. Got 2 Kaws with different gearing. Both like to stay down, but they seem to be lacking in acceleration relative to the others.
I admit - I don't know a lot about setting them up. It's just what I noticed. I had two CBR600s that handled completely different because one was OTS and the other was track. The track one was like a good dog, it did anything I wanted it to do.
I just got a new job that puts me way into a 6 figure income (yup, brag brag brag) so I'm going to become a spoiled brat again. This time I want more than 9. I sold most that I had, got 3 1/2 left to get rid of, so......... Where do I start rebuilding my arsenal? KTM?

Sorry for the thread jack..... And really sorry for the loss. I've been through it thrice with friends and family. My prayers for comfort go out to anyone needing it.

KTM is a wheelie monster. All the torque brings the front right up.

So does that mean good low end torque but the natural CG is further back from other bikes? I mean that relative to all things on other bikes having the same basic setup. Are track fairings readily available? Maybe I should just start a thread. Feel weird about it here.

It was also the first year of the rc8r. And who is to say they just didn't like the ktm so they couldn't go as fast. Derrick Wagnon seems to like his just fine, and seems to go plenty fast too.

And I replied to your lap times showing that the ktm was the slowest. It was the first year it came out so they wouldn't have had time to get used to a ktm super bike. Not to mention people are going to be faster on bikes they prefer not just performance based. Would they have gained 2-3 seconds on the ktm if it was their favorite bike and ride it to it's full potential? Who knows, but those lap times aren't really relevant to the conversation of track graphics getting a new bike.

Yea, that's why I never quoted him, it was in response to "Photographer" claiming his 2010 bike is better in the turns and handles better than all others. I don't know if I can make that any more simple for you

Lap times don't show how well they corner? Lots of other factors go into a good lap time.

If you say so, obviously of all those bikes in that Super Poll the CBR did not have the most HP, but since you've ridden and tested all of them on the track I'll defer to your expertise

Here is a video comparing 2014 cbr1000 sp which yeah I know it's a 2014 but last new revision was 2008 right? And it's the sp with lots of extra handling goodies right?
