Abandoned bike?

Howdy,

This bike has been sitting for a very very long time (over a year I believe). Looks like someone tore open the cover to possibly steal it?

Security asked me to find out whose it is before they finally remove it

Is there any markings or damages on it that can help a person identify it aside from a stock SV?

I can't remember anything unique about it or any scratches. Just remember the chain is severely rusted. Thief probably saw the chain and didn't feel safe riding away on it

Has anyone run the vin for you yet?

If not, a quick way to see if it's stolen is here: https://www.nicb.org/theft_and_fraud_awareness/vincheck

Might also contact DPS and see if they'd be willing to look it up.
