Dual sport riders?

If you've got a big dual sport and would be interested in exploring some out of the way dirt roads and trails, post up! For example, I understand there are some interesting back ways to Fayetteville. Bijou rides. Other places relatively close that a bigger dual sport can get through.

What kind of tires come on that GS? I sold my XR650R which I wanted to do some dual sporting on but never got around to it. I could probably turn my 690SMC into and Enduro R with some spare wheels.

I should know that but I don't. They are not the nobbies you can get on the GS. However, I've had them in dirt, sand, and climbing grassy hills and I had grip. Definitely not a pure road tire. They felt ok in the forest and 3090 at a prett good clip riding with Joe on his R1. But I had to shift at 5k or so. Like driving a diesel truck.

I think the later GS's come with Metzeler Tourance EXP tires.

they don't look much different from Distanzias

Yeah, they are an 80%~90% road tire.

I went with heidenau K60s which are a 50/50.

....and I am IN.
