I hear there is going to be a shortage of these, similar to ammo shortages. All 3 letter agencies, both Fed/local have bought up most of them.....

Think bigger. They are set up to receive any and all footage consumers capture with theirs and upload all to a big computer that puts it all together with facial recognition software. They knew what everyone is doing and who they are. They turn us into their own little spy on the ground where their cameras are not at. Thats probably what they do anyway

DJI has a couple different options for those interested. You don't have to go the Vision + route at $1300+, they also have the Phantom 2 that comes with the new H3 3D gimbal which basically means the gimbal is capable of tilting and doing a full 360 spin to capture everything, that one runs I believe right around 870, give or take a few. The original vision is still available for $1k but the Vision + offers the full on 3D gimbal.

btw, I'll hook any MH members up if they're interested in any R/C gear, including multi-rotors, just hit me up and I'll take care of you.

I'll be hitting you up. Do you guys do quad builds there? OFM style? I've been looking at piecing my own together but I was kinda scared to do it because it looks so complex.

why pay to do something yourself when the enterprising youngsters will do it for you and provide it as a "free" service?

the government doesn't really need to "spy" on most of the country anymore, as people are willing to post every little detail of their life willingly... tinfoil

Bluewave: Curious to see some of the vids you get. A buddy of mine just bought a quad-rotor to start playing with and has me interested in it myself, I just don't think I'd ever put it to "good" use.

I just finished rebuilding my tri-copter with 2-axis stabilized gimbal for a GoPro 3+. With gps position hold. Probably have $500 in it without the camera.

DJI is top notch though.

yup, I do the builds, they aren't that hard actually, I built a Flamewheel 550 from start to finish in 2 1/2 hours and was up flying on the 3rd hour. They're a lot of fun but the add-ons and other really start to add up.
