RIP brother.

I wonder how many of these "Lost Control" instances are really "Hit by Car". We will never know without witnesses.

Fatal Traffic Accident at 6800 East Orem
Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 6800 East Orem about 9 p.m. on Saturday (April 12).
The identity of the male victim, 24, is pending notification to family members by the Harris Count of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Roberts and Officer Y. Haq reported:
The victim was operating at maroon Suzuki motorcycle westbound on East Orem at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his motorcycle at the crest of the bridge at East Mykawa. The motorcycle struck the guardrail and the victim was ejected. He was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
There were no other vehicles involved in this accident nor witnesses.
Dude, every ride I've been on when a rider went down, it was a single vehicle accident.

If a car hits you from behind, you land on the hood of the car

I'm not saying the police report is wrong, I just wonder.

That is a straight bridge, how do you lose control going straight? Maybe somebody changed lanes in front of him or something.

No witnesses.

If this was a maroon Suzuki 750 then he's a friend of my co-worker. I didn't get many details but I know my buddy came in this morning and told me about it. I rode with the guy once a long time back. I'll try to get the details before I open my mouth on what I heard.

This is that bridge going west on Orem.

My guess is he was going way too fast, didn't make the right hand turn, and flew over the opposing lanes.

I was half asleep when he told me this morning, but yes I believe his name started with an R. I just remember the bike and he's African American if that helps.

I'm not familiar with the bridge but could he have caught air when he topped it or had the front end come up if he was hauling ?

I see the turn near the end of the bridge. I don't see any street lights so visibility could have played a part if he was hauling .

I saw a guy lose it on a straight before. He was accelerating, pushed too hard on the bars and tank slapped his to the ground. So depending on the rider, you can in fact eat chit on a straight-a-way.

Its possible, but not probable.

There are SO many of people riding Houston streets with little/no experience, no MSF, no helmet, no freaking clue about riding in general, etc., and they go out and kill themselves. Sadly, it happens all the time.

Cop report is lacking in information and the bridge had a curve at the end that is where he lost it.
