HELP! 07 R1 Flushmounts

I just got my Greggs Custom flushmount turn signals in and I'm trying to install them. The problem is when I take off my factory turn signals there is a big plastic platform on the outside of the fairing that isn't detatchable. The directions say they should just pop into place but it wont fit with the plastice there. What do I do?!?!

I already cut my factory wire, I COULD splice it back if I have to but I dont want to and Im trying to hook this up before tonights ride. If ANYONE around the beltway 8 and 45 area would so generously be willing to ride over and help me I would appreciate it big time. 281-543-5484 is the cell I'll be outside.

You didn't pull off the stalk, it will unscrew from inside the fairing panel.

Patrick, you took the words right out of my mouth. Some people think you can do it without pulling off the fairings, but it's easier if you take them off and splice the connectors to the new lights it would be even more easier.
