Yeah I figured as much .. was just scanning looking for something cheap to play around on. I saw how bad the forks were bent ... hit something hard head on probably.

This one is from 2 years ago. Super clean, unfortunately I was a day late to the party.

Be patient, have cash ready, and you can find a good deal.

They were beautiful. Would easily buy one if they weren't all completely trashed.

if he drops the price a bit you could have a good running bike but @ 1400 he's gonna have to find someone very desperate or foolish especially with bent forks and knows what else.

I looked around front end going to run anywhere between 300-600 bucks...but with it being wrecked and the forks like that after I started thinking I cant believe there is not something else wrong. If I could talk the guy down ... what would be a decent price where if something was wrong and I had to part it out I could make it back.

If you want an sv I think there's a pretty sweet one for sale in the listings here. . Maybe the seller would cut you a deal

Lol .. yeah I saw it ... little out of my price range for just having something to toy around with. If I was in a position I would definitely be hitting up the seller on that one

No I appreciate the info .. I think I am not communicating well today ... I meant getting more info on what happened would give me a better idea of things to look for. From the pictures it doesnt look like the tank, rear, exhaust/can, bars, or anything is scraped up from going down. I see frame sliders so would have to get a look to see if they are rashed up. Just weird seeing the forks bent like that and no cosmetic or just *wow* look at that damage. Unless he started replacing parts and then figured it just was not worth it once he starting pricing the front end.

u've already got a really sweet ninja 300 it appears, honestly, for what he's asking vs what the bike looks like i'd pass, i saw one last year red, same generation sv650 in pristine condition with around 25,000mi the guy was asking 1200 for it and it stayed on the market for 4-6 months before it finally sold, the guy should take 700-800 and run

and you should pass on this and wait for something better to come along.

however, dont be afraid to go by and familiarize yourself with this machine, your next ride, logically would be one of these bikes although i'd pick a 2nd generation with ABS since your current bike already has ABS, the motors are the same, except for the carb on these models and get an idea of what this bike looks like runs like and what not.

Have you purchased a mechie's stethoscope from harbor freight yet? its the best $3.00 you'll ever spend and is initimidating as when you approach a private party with a stethoscope going all doogie houser on his ride :P

I have been thinking about parting with my silver 2002 SV650S and move to a liter bike, but has not gotten around to listing it. Currently using it as a daily commuter bike, 18,000 miles, full fairing, clean title in my name, very good condition, fair value is on Blue Book or NADA website, pm if interested.
