13 news at 4pm Keels & Wheels

Spent my morning with a news crew from ABC 13 shooting footage for this weekends Keels and Wheels show in Seabrook. If you have never been....GO! It's a fantastic display of classic cars and wooden boats. I will have four boats in the show this year, two of which will be shown on the 4 0'clock news. Serenity is a 1941 Elco 57', and Mis Pris is a '57 Chris Craft 32'. Restoring these classics is part of what my company does so give it a look see. As for the cars, this year there will be some whoppers up for auction. The hearst that carried Kennedy will be auctioned off , as well as several of Carrol Shelby's favorite cars along with Sir Sterling Moss' Shelby racer which he says was his personal favorite . I usually have a couple dozen tickets so if you plan on going shoot me a PM, first come first served.

I'm new to Houston, where is the show exactly and when? Is it crutches friendly? I can only walk a little while before my foot feel like it wants to fall off.

Sounds way cool!

BTW, a "hearse" carries dead bodies..."Hearst" is the name of that castle in California built by William Randolph Hearst, who created a publishing empire. The castle is located in San Simeon, in the Central Coast.

The show is at Lakewood Yacht Club at teh end of Nasa Rd 1 about two blocks before hwy 146. You will see and O'Reiley's auto parts on your right when east bound on Nasa Rd 1, take that right or just look for the parking attendants to tell you where to park. It is apretty big show that covers the whole grounds of the club. For you photo buffs you can't find a prettier setting that the classics under the spreading oak trees on the green grren grass. We'll also have a Rolls Royce Phantom in the show for one of my clients, that used to belong to Redd Foxx. Tickets ar 25.00 I believe this year, and they had a sweet collection of classic bikes last year, not sure if they will be there again though.

Yeah great fun, beautiful cars and boats and sometimes classic bikes. I use to put my 52 Bentley in the show, and also was a judge for a few years, lots of fun. Good luck Buck, does that sound funny?

Serenity won "Best of Show", and the little 32' Mis Pris won "Best of Class". Nothing for the Rolls, but it's an almost daily driver so oh well............

Suprised the Kennedy hearSe didn't sell. Reserve was at 1 Mil, bids only got to 940,000.00. Other than the hearse, mostly a bunch of junk in the auction. One of my clients was looking at the '52 Caddy, but it was trashed.
