When you start spending a thousand dollars a year on tolls that gets real.

Exactly. For most people, the sound of someone trying to save " a dollar here and there" by running tolls means you are a complete jew. When you spend over two grand a year, suddenly it's not so jewish anymore.

What are you if you only ride toll free roads?

Someone who has no life because you sit in traffic for hours a day.

You never heard of lane splitting?

Yeah that's illegal too. It's also a lot easier to get caught.

Oh and it also puts your own safety and other people's safety at risk. Running doesn't put anyone's safety at risk.

I wasn't recommending it, just wondered if you've heard of it

Technically, if you're "riding the line" to get out of a toll, you are lane "splitting". Which is even illegal in Cali, from what I understand. What Bevo is referring to is more accurately lane "sharing", and if done properly, is really probably less dangerous than sitting and waiting to be rear-ended.*

*I'm sure there are stats out there somewhere, as they're pulled out every time we get into the lane sharing debate, but I'm too lazy to find them for you right now.

I know all about lane splitting and how it is safer in California. Part of the reason I got my bike was to split. After riding on these interstates around here, it just doesn't seem safe to me...here in Houston anyways.

I don't ride the stripe on the toll road, I ride right next to it. almost touching it, but still within my lane. It works.
