Re: How was the Trackday 2day?

overall a good trackday, great experience for everyone...

rain through the morning a tad, dried almost completely in the afternoon

4 of our riders went down, including: myself, javier, dustin and andy

for the level1 riders that i got to ride with a tad, lookin pretty good, got a lot of form to work on

gianni, andy, and the rest of level 4, great riding did well hope to see you out there soon

as for me, bike is ok, tweaked subframe and front stay, all able to bend back

the t-shirts will be made asap, and i'll have them sent to me and i'll give them to you guys

Re: How was the Trackday 2day?

it was good.... *well we got there sunday night. and it was a little cloudy but not too bad... *then we unloaded out things and I went to the restroom and I was in there no more than 5 mins... I come out and all broke loose and its raining like a madman. I swear it wasnt even raining downward, the rain was coming horizontally! * * It was like that for about 30 mins and things were blowin everywhere.. *Then the rain was still there but a LOT lighter. *

This morning we get up and its cloudy and still damp from yesterday and the sessions start and after one session it came back down hard again... * it wasnt until about 11am that the sun actually started peeking a little little bit. *we took lunch and the next session seemed like they had just turn on a heater... it went from windy and rainy, to no wind, and HOT!! *I was cookin in my suit. *The track dried up and it was nice and sticky for the rest of the day. I thought it was ok overall, too bad it wasnt nice all day but hey what can u do, it happens.

As for wrecks we had some of the forum guys go down, not to mention any names... Sydney, Andy and Javier. . But hey its all part of the sport. As for me considering I didnt really ride when it was raining and hadnt even gotten on my ike in a little over a month I did quite well. I was told by Ty Howard that my form and riding style was perfect and if I worked a little more on my braking I could easily cut down my lap times by about 3 or 4 secs. I was quite pleased.

Other than the weather, sounds like a pretty good outcome.

Re: How was the Trackday 2day?

i was impressed with the FREE instruction that was given to all level of riders, though i didnt want to be in a classroom while not riding, i did learn a few things that helped me out in the turns. overall i think ridesmart did a good job, but next time i'll be in level 4, gettin passed like crazy.

Re: How was the Trackday 2day?

well, james i would highly recommend you stay out if 4. you'll off alot of riders w/ your speeds vs theirs and endanger youself as well as others.

was not happy about the "drills" other then the videotaping.

had a good day. nobody w/ the group i was hanging w/ went down...... right:

Re: How was the Trackday 2day?

the mandatory class time in level2 was messin with my mojo... (i usually like to ride - come in and pit - and think about my lines and what i want to do in the next session) *the class was pretty rudimentry and was taking time away from that... soooo i flashed'em my cmra lic and got the nod to level 4...

riding in four is pretty much not a track day pace... but rather a race pace... so i had to check around me in the corners alot - but it was still better than going through cones on the front/back straights like some kind of level2 msf exercise... wtf was that anyway???... *:dontknow:

the track was slippy as before lunch... and i nearly got added to the list of those who went down... i got shoved to the outside when somebody passed me on the inside of t6... i was leaned over and had to adjust my line b/c they were coming though right at the apex... of course as my luck would have it that put me on a direct course for the puddles in the middle of the track... i hit them and the front broke like a bucking bronco... almost high-sided but (thank you mr. pirelli) i was able to regain control before going off the track... it was the most wicked wobble skidding experience of my life though... needless to say my times went waaaaaay down in the following laps and even in the next session after that...

but by the afternoon... i was gettin back in my grove... and on the last session i decided to jump in level2 with moody behind me... after being passed all day by gixxer's it was nice to go out a beeyach slap an entire level... even with both of us having to get around all the slower riders i still managed to get in 2:13's... *so i was happy to call it a day...

props to syd for the gettogether... dave wonders is a class act... *

good seeing everyone again... and nice meeting a few of you for the first time too... *

we gotta do this again sometime!... *right:

Re: How was the Trackday 2day?

they actually don't do those drills all the time, they were trying it out this time

LSTD doesn't have as much classroom AND instruction, that's why you like it more, but as far as safer, RIDESMART has less wrecks
