Could really be only 2 things there. Bike on bike contact or a mechanical failure.

Feel better track day rider.

Or they went too fast and hit the top of the bank and that's where they ended up...

I hope they are alright, seeing a helicopter at the track is never a good thing.

Why are you so stupid? Who mentioned anything about street here?
This is all for the rider, title just denotes it is risky at the track so everyone watch it.

Yeah really sucks! I wish things didn't happen like this on a motorcycle! So careful Lucar if you star riding track cause accidents can happen anywhere! Even in your big rig!

Call me up later and I'll catch you up!

The track is safer than the street. However accidents do happen.

This may be just one of those very unfortunate accidents that happens. I'm sure both riders are going to be reevaluating their actions thinking they should have done something differently. That said, motorcycles at speed 100+ mph just don't change direction very quickly and everything happens real fast when things go wrong.

As far as the title of this thread. It's true if your going ride a sport bike to it's limit, the track is the safest place to do it. Some tracks safer than others. It made be safer to ride on the street at legal limits but then you're still at the mercy of cars. If you really want "safe", then don't ride a motorcycle at all or even leave the house.
