I'll bet you will really enjoy the R1. Just take it easy and give yourself time to get used to the bike. Keep in mind that the Buell has power early in the RPM band, and then plays out in the upper ranges. The R1 on the other hand, will be reserved in the low RPM areas, but become a fire breathing monster as the RPMs increase. You might have done a demo ride on the R1 and never get the RPM over about half way across the tach, and think the bike has good power. But that right side of the tach - is where the thrill / trouble lies.

Ride smartly and enjoy.

100% agree my friend however the r1 I rode I tested for bout 3 secs from 3rd to right at 5th to get a sorta feel for the high rpm power. And yes I completely understand how you can find ur self in bad spot real quick. I could not believe the power nd speed compared to the buell. Needless to say its a whole nother beast but I cant wait to try and tame one of my own. Its gonna b like learning all over again im sure for bout 3 to 6 months. Maybe not I like to ride nd I plan to break it in within the first few weeks ima ride it outta town, so I can get some miles on real fast.

what he said

I never rode a r1 but I had no complaints about my r6...but if insurance $ isn't a factor I guess go with the r1 if u know u can control yourself
