I need to get rid of some cats. Anyone got a trap?

So heres is the deal...

My street is infested with cats. There is a guy two doors down from me that feeds the cats. He also has 4 dogs (no kennel license). The cats are friggin nasty. They on my front door, all over the place (and unhealthy cat is the nastiest stuff ever), and fight all night long.

I have dealt with this situation for a long time now, but a couple days ago they drew the last straw. I left the window in my car open for a couple hours and when I went back out to my car and opened the door a nasty cat ran out. It left me presents of spray inside. I had a real nice rubber/neoprene seat cover on one seat. The seat cover is now ruined and some of the spray maneged to get through and now my seat smells like cat . I have cleaned it well and it still smells. This was the last straw. I cannot take it anymore, the cats have got to go.

So, does anyone have any traps that I can use for these cats? I would like to trap them and take them into spca. Does anyone have any other good ideas for how to get rid of them?

Thanks!

Call the SPCA or Barc
http://www.houstontx.gov/health/BARC/index.html

They'll come get them. The bad thing about anti freeze is that you can't control who or what gets into it. A family pet or even a child may drink it.
Barc will come out and trap the animals for you and take them away.

No, I've used my P22 to dispatch a possum or in my yard in the past, but that's only one at a time.

Tim sounds like he has a few cats that he has a problem with.

Plus if his neighbor is feeding the cats, he may report Tim for shooting them, a hassle I'm sure he'd like to avoid.

My neighbors on the other hand pretty much wave and say "hi" and leave me alone.

It is nice to know you can allways count on MH for a variety of responses. I tried to call BARC this afternoon, never got through. Will try again tomorrow. I have been under the impression that you have to trap them yourself, but if they will come get em, even better.

I talked to the guy who feeds the cats, he said it wasn't his problem FU. I told him that the cats were gone.

My understanding of the law is that cats are subject to the same responsibilities of dogs....That they are supposed to be constrained to ones property, and that there wastes are supposed to be picked up after. If was reading COH animal regs and it was saying that cats are subject to the leash law as well.

As much as I dislike cats, for the past few years I have been toying around with the idea of getting my own outside cat. I would want a mean, mean cat. It would have to be a serious a%&kicker. I figure one cat might be better than a dozen.

Do they breed badass cats like this? A pit-bull type cat that would chase off the rest of the cats?

I wish I could, I really do. If I did not live in the city and have cat feeding neigbor 2 doors down I would. I don't want to shoot one with a pellet gun either because all it might do is make the thing howl and scream all night and then get me arrrested the next day.

I had the same problem. Tons of cats everywhere. I called the pound and told them one bit me and drew blood. They will be out ASAP, they have to catch the cat the check for rabies. I just kept catching cats, and telling them that wasn't the one so they would leave the catcher with me. I must have got them to pic up at least 7 or 8, and a couple of small dogs too.

A big tomcat will keep a lot of cats away. I've had a few throughout the years.

I've got a huge tom right now, he's mostly an indoor cat because he's declawed, but he's still a badass when he gets out.

He's always bringing me dead birds, mice, even a snake once, etc.
Plus no other cats come in my yard.
