It does get tedious. On one hand, it's positive peer pressure and works fine as long as it stays in the realm of education. Unfortunately, educating new riders slides into something more like nattering too often. Let's put the info out there, gently encourage then accept when folks make a choice--even if they decide not to decide. The guy who plowed into the back of the semi (I think in Nebraska?) had on full gear. It's undeniable that gear does make a difference, but there are other factors that are internal and just as important, and if persuasion is the goal, then the condescending-yammer ain't the way to effect positive change. It'd be nice to think anyone here really cares that much about my health & safety, but if that was the case we'd host MH smoking cessation seminars. And we'd have Eat-Plenty-of-Fiber-for-the-Sportbike-Rider hemorrhoid awareness day. Don't forget the If You Ride a Bright Sportbike You Should Wear SPF 15 or Higher to Guard Against Skin Cancer alerts. And . . .well, you get my point.
My 2 cents.

of course you do. Everyone feels the same I'm sure. But we aren't talking about after the fact....we are talking about the "words of advice" everyone seems to have lately. It's more like beating a dead horse than anything really. That's probably my biggest complaint....the same over and over and over and over and...well, you get the point. It's not that you shouldn't be able to say anything if/when someone screws up...'cause you can, you will, and pretty sure you have.

Damnit, no! I'm having fun venting. :laughing6 It's good therapy for a stressed out, completely frazzled, end-of-the-semester English teacher. I haven't been able to turn into an alcoholic like all the other good instructors, so this is what's left to me.

(you shouldn't give a rats if someones bike is lowered/painted with wild graphics/has dancing lights on it/stretched/chromed/chopped/screwed/scrambled/whatever).

Another thing I have noticed on here everyone is "take it to the track this" and "take it to the track that". When lo and behold they go out on a public twisty road and tear the living out of it for fun.

Just getting some things in perspective...

+1 , very good points, quite common on here

Ulric, I understand your point, and quite frankly I think it is a valid one. I was just stating MY opinion of things. Debating my opinion is unnecessary in this case because it will not change. I understand what you're saying and I appreciate it.

Sorry, not trying to debate your opinion... just tossing stuff out there.

Bored & irked as heck at work...in full ADD mode to boot.
It's/We're all venting one way or another...in short cause at the present
moment we can't go out there and ride. :-)
