Local riding spots?

I have a little trail system behind the house but it's small.
Is there any local spots around spring?
I went last year with a friend off of 242 under the bridge and rode the river and had a great time.
But then I was informed it wasn't legal!
[not from Texas]
Looking for a nice spot for my quad maybe do a little 2 up. With a few playgrounds.

As far as you quad .. Look up
Creekside Offroad Park in Splendora
Shiloh Ridge in Alto
Down South in Crosby

there are more. Camping and RV hook ups at Creekside and Shiloh Ridge for sure. Camping all of them.

***we use to be able to ride Spring Creek and Cypress Creek but since they changed the law a few years back you cant cross the waterways ... which I think is bullshit .. it was not the 4 wheers tearing up but the big 4x4 getting suck and jacking up

They closed down all the parks that had access to the trails to Spring Creek. I know they were patrolling the areas pretty heavy for a while after they closed. I sold my 4 wheeler when that happened because all I had to do was jump the levee across the street and I was on Spring Creek.

Creekside is good for a day trip like 40 min take 242 and get on 59 its just right after the exit for Splendora. Not sure of any places you can ride without the risk of having to run from the cops lol. Not that I have ever had to do that before .

If anyone wants to set up a quad ride, i'd be down. I'm always itching to ride. I've been wanting to go check out some of those offroad parks here around town.

Never been there but I'd like to try it out. I ride a 400ex and have buddy I work with just just bought a blaster. We're looking for new places to ride and have some fun.

I have never ridden there either.
Sam Houston is pretty fun but got to wear all protection and single ride only.
Shilo Ridge is awesome especially during a holiday ride.

Yeah me and Alto did not get along . Here was my track record there:

1st Trip: 15 min after unloading and about 2 hrs on my quad I flipped it on some trails on the left hand side of the road by the small pit. Trail did an S curve and I went through the middle to catch up and rolled it .. smacked a tree (no helmet was on order). Quad landed on me but I was just a little sore and dazed from smacking the ground. Snapped my right front A-Arm in half...broke the bumper, fubared the front rack.

**Lufkin Polaris had one thank ..65 dollars and a tube of grease back on the trails.

2nd Trip: Last Day of the 3 day weekend ... we were over on the big climbs back by that Big House close to the highway. I was the last one up and every loosened up the dirt so when I got to the top ... stood right up...I tried to lean it over ... people tried to grab the rack but it was to late...Back we went and dove off into big rut and the quad landed on me...would have been good right there but I decided to push it off as it came down and it barrel rolled 3 time down a big hill. Landed on all 4 wheels, but back tire blew the bead, broke the front master brake resv and lever, up the choke (only reason it died) and both racks fubared this time (bent the brackets). Pulled it back loaded it up ... 300 bucks for parts and she was back up and going.

3rd Trip: Uneventful for me wife was riding 2-up...but watched someone get killed so that was my last trip to Alto. Each trip before someone had either died or helicopter picked them up but seeing it happen just killed the vibe for the place.

Other than that Alto was awesome...good trails, good climbing ,,, good mud pits ... lots of dumbasses taking brand new vehicles with paper plates in the middle of the 2nd deepest mud pit (water up to the middle of the doors lol). Took an F250 to pull a Duramax that was hooked to the Gmc 1500 (not even 4x4) to get it out. You see some when you are there.

My friends love Creekside cause its close and the riding is pretty good but beware of going after a good rain...some of the trails flood due to a creek and there is no getting through.

I hate for the day when I lay my bike down...based on my ability to wreck 3 wheeler and 4 wheelers my whole life its not gonna be good lol.

Yep Alto can get pretty gnarly.
My trip [only one on a mx bike] ended with a lot of the same .
Watched 2 people get life flighted out... another crash with a fatality.
Lot of friends with broken parts .
I don't ride my quad nearly as hard as my bike.
had to teach myself to be safe and not ride over my head.
Last year I tried to put together a trip to Alto with a little mellower crowd.
A group of say 5-10 people. To go up and camp a few days.
Just couldn't get everyone together.

I rode that Polaris hard ... but I replaced all broken parts after each trip . Alto is fun but you gotta be careful. Everyone that I was riding with at the time has switched over to Razors and just go climbing and cruising around. I dont have the time to drop 13-14k on a machine to sit in the garage ... Motorcycle was a stretch for me but I needed something to get out and roam around .. I have always had some kinda toy to play on since I was a kid be it a go-kart, 3-wheeler, 4 wheeler.

I'd like to get a ride together, I don't think Easter weekend would work for me but probably just about any other weekend.

You mean down south? If so then they have been there for years and is a nice place to ride and swim.
