2008 CBR1000RR "Red Rocket"
2005 SV1000S (sold)

The z1k's are fantastic bikes. The 3rd and 4th gen even more so with the expanded displacement.

They are not touring bikes like the fz1, but are much more akin to the Speed triple.

I have a hard time choosing between the two, but I honestly liked the top-end pull of the gen 1 z1k over the very flat (but STRONG) pull of my speedie. The speedie wins on handling bar none, but the new z1k-s are likely up'd in that dept significantly.

I'm 5'10" 175, btw

PS- it's faster than your 600, and wind is fone up to 90ish, again im not a huge guy so that might change some depending on your frame

Just traded mine in after 9000 miles in 2 years. Great engine - tons of mid-range, power always on tap. Tank is small (4 gallons = 130miles) and seat needs to be replaced with aftermarket if you want to spend more than 45 minutes on it, but it was a great bike. I really miss it. Last time I was down at British-USA/Gulf Coast BMW it was still there.

Thx, yes it is a pretty bike. Went sat on one yesterday. The passenger pegs/seating looks pretty much as right as my Cbr. So think I'm still at a dead end

I had an 04 Z1000. Besides looking like the great pumpkin I loved it. Wind wasn't an issue until about 90MPH.

Kawi did a great job restyling the 2014 Z1k. Took some liberty with the Ducati Streetfighter styling cues. Prev gen Z1k is prety cool looking too. That new engine is an absolute brilliant mill for road riding. I like the Ninja 1000 version better though.

I wasn't too impressed with the FZ8 either. Go FZ1 if you want to go that route.

S3 is worth a look, but the looks won't suit everybody

Don't overlook the Duc 1100 EVO. Kinda unappreciated big bore naked, but prolly the best bang for your Duc buck..

Sitting on a few it's looking like the ninja 1000 might be what I'm looking for. Havnt ridden one but I imagine faster than my 600. But looks more comfy, passenger too
