Opinions on z1000?

Cbr too cramped and looking at other options. Considering zx-14 but that will take me two years to get the one I would want.
The z1000 looks nice, and way more comfy, specially better two up.

Worries,
-Wind and vibration, online ppl say wind is unbearable at 70+ but I dunno if this is an exaggeration.
- power, seems like 0-100 ish it would be close to my 600 and that's fine by me. Unless I'm way off.
- comfort and passenger comfort.

Any comments?
Btw my "long"trips with passenger are only 200 miles-300 ish so not looking for sport tour

Thanks!!!!!!

Mantoe just bought one , hopefully he'll chime in. I rode it briefly and it felt like a more comfortable zx10r to me.

I rode one, but preferred to get the Triumph Speed Triple...its a little more refined. Two up is better as teh z1000 is more agressive.

7cain, you really need to quit knocking on my window Its kinda creepy.

I bought a 2013 z1000 and absolutely love it. It's been a blast to ride and I get compliments on it every where I go. I honestly don't feel any wind till I'm doing 90-100 and even then a little body adjustment forward fixes it right up. The motor has plenty of power and has a close ratio gear box (always trying to find that illusive 7th gear). As far as feel and agility, I didn't have any "transition" time. It feels great in the corners and I feel real comfortable pushing it as hard as I want.

Last weekend I spent a few days in the hill country with a couple friend and racked up 600 miles in 2 days, would have been more but a cold front blew in on sunday and aintnobodygottimeforthat. It's the most time I've spent on the bike since I've owned it and here are the cons.
1.Gas tank hold 4 gal which results in 120 mile range. At 100 miles the light comes on which leaves 1 gal to find a station.
2. The mirrors are useless. When I say useless I mean you lean to the side to see whats behind you. I bought bar-end mirrors which made the look a lot better and fixed the mirror issue.
3. The seat is a plank. You'll be able to ride 100-120 miles before you'll need a break.
4. The rearsets are the same position as a sportbike so between the seat and the rearsets it gets pretty uncomfortable after the range I gave above. I'm 6'1" and 220 lbs so small guys may have a different opinion on this.

That's about I have. I'd also like to say with the cons I listed I don't regret buying the bike its fun as and if I had to choose all over again it would still be the bike I choose......well...... I actually wanted to buy the 2013 tuono but it was out of my price range so z1000 it was.

Nicely done. That exhaust really set it off.

Btw, you really need to trim these branches, getting hard to see through the window.

Maybe something like an FZ8 would suit your needs. Plenty of power, pretty comfy and has a small fairing to ease your wind worries. I'd imagine the passenger accommodations would be better than a sportbike too.

To be honest, I was highly disappointed with the fz8 after riding it. It's a in all aspects of the word. Suspension is mushy, power felt scooterish, and throttle was very twitchy. I wanted one too.

They have this one , small dent on the tank but could keep my 600 and it in the stable. Wouldn't have to sell my rr. I dunno maybe too many miles
