COTA MotoGP Paddock Pass, anyone get one last year?

I know a lot of people disliked the COTA service last year, but just out of curiosity if anyone got the paddock pass and what the experience was like? Were the paddocks accessible anytime during the day and was it worth it?

From what I seen online it looks like you get to walk between where the 18 wheelers park and the backside of the garages . I walked it last year and it wasnt that impressive , I would rather walk pit lane and the starting grid .

It was a joke. We got a tour of the starting grid for 15 minutes. They decided last minute to limit paddock access. Don't get me wrong, real seats, air conditioning, all you can eat catered buffet, ect.... but access to any real "pit area" ? Nope.

MotoGP Paddoc access sucks. They need to learn from AMA and SBK. Heck, keep your pilot gawds out of the way. Just let me see the bikes being worked on etc.

I ended up with a VIP pass on Friday, and they let me wonder around the paddock sucking down cold beer.

It was cool.

Paddock access is not limited by COTA or any track for that matter. Available access is up to the racing sanction visiting the track. COTA only enforces the wishes of MotoGP. As for hiding the gods to let you look at the bikes is most likely the opposite of what the teams want. Last thing they need is some drunk fool taking pictures and posting their technology online. on board video even has the dash blurred out. NHRA for instance. Yeah you can see everything on the Top Fuelers but that's because they are a freak show. They replace every piston and rod after every run. There is nothing trick about them. All they care is that they hold together. Pro stock now, those guys make over 2.5 HP per cube off a naturally aspirated 500 inch carb fed engine. Go by their pit. You'll be lucky to see a valve cover. They don't want anyone seeing a darn thing. Same with F1. It sucks but these guys are racing for millions in dollars in purses and sponsorships and have a lot at stake. AMA only has what 5 races this rear. Their not to concerned.
