Insurance question

I guess in general I'm curious if pretty much everyone here carries full coverage. For those that have liability I guess I wonder what the reasons are. Two years of my insurance pays for my bike value so gotta love that. I keep it cuz the medical but everytime I hear about a rough wreck the bills are so crazy high it seems like it doesn't cover . I dunno just justifying the expense I guess.
Thx for any input, rants, or if needed name calling.

well you are also paying for the liability part of it. That covers the person you may hit.

Then you have have uninsured/underinsured motorist which cover if someone hits you and they either do not have insurance or not enough. This will cover your bike and any medical bills.

comprehensive covers anything other than a collision like theft, fire etc.

collision will cover if you crash the bike

then you also have medical which most people only get 10k which will not pay for much at the hospital.

I would not have collision or comprehensive on a super old cheap bike that is worth 2-5k. that is my opinion

May see what droppin collision will do. Don't really care about theft, never park my bike where I can't see it. Or it's in my garage

The medical part on a Moto policy was only designed to cover basic deductibles on a true medical insurance plan. It's not to pay off your issues because you chose not to have medical insurance

yea collision is the most expensive part. Im an agent so If you want you can send me a copy and i can advise whats best to do until its cheaper for you. You could even keep comprehensive on there, its usually cheaper of the two.

I have liability. $255 a year vs $300 a month for full coverage. If I do wreck and its my fault Ill just buy a new bike. I cant justify paying that much a month for insurance. I dont even pay half that for full coverage on 2 vehicles.

Skimmed this thread, so I'm not sure if others have posted this, but please - for yourself - make sure you carry PIP (personal injury protection) and UM/UIM (uninsured/under-insured) coverage.

These coverages afford you a lot of protection without a lot of cost. Don't cheap out!

Far too many of my clients have taken the cost-effective way out only to regret when something bad has happened to them in a crash.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or click on my link int he signature.

I was quoted $3000 a year this morning for full coverage. Needless to say I'm waiting till I turn 25.

Dumb idea. Every person who said this has had their bike stolen. Theft isnt expensive.
