SHNF Multi Use trails need help

http://trailscoalitionoftexas.org/index.php/membership

FYI MH===I've posted a link to the SHNF trails coalition. The Sam Houston Naltional Forest forestry service no longer has the manpower to clean trails and keep them safe for riding, so this group has volunteered to help the forestry service maintain the multi use trails, hiking trails, and others in the SHNF. If you liked to help, please visit the web site and consider joining them in their effort to keep the trails open in the SHNF for all to enjoy in the future.

Sure would be easy to ride through them on dirt bikes with a trash bag and grabber and pick up stuff!

Yep TomballD, We're cleaning trails on Thursday morning out there. I'm using a machete, Mark's bringing a cutter, and Jason's hauling a chain saw. Leaving out of the west side trail head at 9:30 if anyone wants to help out.

do you still have to be certified to bring a chain saw?

Yes, you have to be certified to cut anything with a chainsaw in the SHNF, I use a machete with a jagged edge for cutting on the other side, BUT with the trees I have to get with forestry service ot Texas SHNF Trail Coalition and they will clear the large trees.
