The advantage to our bikes is that a slip-on will delete the cat, and essentially leave you with a full system.

On my '08 CBR1000RR I had the Yoshi slip-on, and liked it... slightly loud, but a deep, throaty tone.

On my '12 CBR1000RR I have the LeoVince slip-on, and like it, too. not too loud and a nice, "racy" tone.

From experience with other bikes/exhausts, the M4 tends to be a bit louder than most, and Akra and Leo always sound really good (like ^ that guy said). Just my .02

Akra is just pricey... its good quality, but def one of the "name brands" of exhausts.

Is it better sound? Is it the only exhaust made compatible with stock without needing pc3 and stuff?

I went with Scorpion slip on because it was louder than stock and never needs to be repacked.

Whether an exhaust sounds better or worse is totally subjective (personal preference). Buy quality and buy what you think looks good, and I'll bet you'll be happy.

As far as needing a power commander, its certainly not required w/ a slip-on, regardless of the exhaust brand. Most folks would probably suggest you spend the money you would have spent on tuning on tires and track days, instead.

Ran a 2 Brothers SO on my 06 CBR600. Nobody would ride next to or behind me, tooooo loud. Arkra's have a nice sound and good fit/finish IMO.

I'd worry about that after the bike is actually in your garage
