fairly close call today - driving the wrong way

So like an hour ago I was taking a short loop around Allen parkway and memorial. Going east on AP almost into downtown I come around the corner and there's an For coming head on into traffic. I really don't know how he got going the wrong way, it sorta looked like he came down the on ramp from the freeway but that means he would have been going the wrong way on the highway which I think is unlikely.

Anyway, he cut across from my right to left and fortunately just jumped the curb to the other side. I probably would have been able to avoid him if he hadn't jumped the curb but still, it was scary as . I wasn't going too fast, but if I had hit him head on, I'd definitely be in the hospital.

So this must be a common occurrence for people going the wrong way? Not very familiar with the area so I'm not sure about why. Sucks though. Rip to your friend, and OP, glad it was just a pucker moment and not worse.

About a month ago I was going northbound on 45 crossing over 610 in that high bridge and as soon as I got over the top I saw cars scattering at the bottom. Out pops a Chevy aveo hauling up bridge. I hit the brakes and got behind the f150 that was next to me and sure enough he creamed the out of that f150. Nocked the whole front right wheel and suspension off of it. Man my heart was pumping after that.

Same experience for me back in August of 2013. Takin my girl home about 12:30am going north on 146 from Kemah. I was in the far left lane and suddenly saw headlights. WTH ! ! ! ?????

JUST - - - missed. Found myself and her careening down the Fairmont Pkwy exit, not kuz we wanted to either! After stopping for a few breaths I got out the phone and called 911. In the background I could hear several other conversations going on with oporators all talking about the same thing. . . . ha. In a few seconds about 10 squad cars were haulin arsh going south - at least they were on the right side!

Same happened to me about a year ago ( in the cage, though). I-10 at about 4am just outside of SATX. Came over a bridge and a car going the wrong way buzzed about a yard from my driver's side. 140mph closing speed or thereabouts. Didn't even have time to process until after the fact. Called 911 to report it and they asked for a description of the car. Told them it's the one driving eastbound in the westbound lanes...that was about all I had for them. Lol
There was no reacting, it was just dumb luck they didn't smash me or my dad who was driving right behind me.
