My 04 WR450 Build Thread

Hey guys, so i recently picked up a street titled WR450, and i figured i'd share my progress. So far I've installed a trail tech vapor, and Galfer brake line.
I'm currently working on replacing the water pump seals, due to a slight leak from the weep hole, and got stuck when i found the kickstart is siezed.
Yesterday i ordered a set of warp 9 17's!!

The bike came with a pro circuit header, and lexx pipe. Airbox mod, YZ throttle stop and JD jet kit.

Here are a few pics, and I have more to come

So ive tried to heat up the kickstarter and use a puller with no luck. Granted, i was using a small pocket torch. Any thoughts on this? Its stuck like chuck!

My wheels will be here this Thursday, and i'll be itching to ride it, but i dont want to ride it without replacing the water pump seals.

yeah.. I've got the same year WR450 that I converted to a supermoto. I've got a build thread here on the forum you should check out if you havn't already. I don't have any good advice on the kickstarter but I can tell you that replacing those seals isn't too difficult. You're gonna love this bike as a supermoto. Sounds like your bike has already been "un-corked". Only thing I havn't done to mine is the gray wire mod.

Yes sir! Your build was one of the few that inspired me to put this rig together. I forgot that it does have the grey wire mod, and i disconnected the TPS. It runs great, just cant wait to put the new wheels on and let it rip!

So i switched the headlamp to a trail tech. I was never a fan of the cyclops unit that the bike came with. Plus now i can see at night! If anyone wants the cyclops light, let me know!

How do you like that Trail Tech, and is it the off-road or DOT version?

I ask because the off-road version is supposed to be brighter than the DOT, and have a more street-friendly light cut-off to keep from blinding on-coming traffic. I've been thinking about getting the DOT version, just not sure if it'll actually be an improvement over the dual 4" "dominator" setup I've got. Light output is horrible.
