500's are fast, cool toys. If you get the 500, your new nickname will be Numb nuts after all that vibration. I rode lc4's for years, and they ain't got nothin on the vibes of those paint shaker 500s! Get it, do it. Do it, do it, dooo it

I didn't think mine was all that fast. It did have a flywheel weight so that took some of the bite out of it. I like my CR250 way better. Lighter, easier to turn, and I don't lose feeling in my after riding it. I would like to ride an aluminum frame CR500 to compare, so buy that and let me ride it.

Bike(s):
- The bike I own
- All the bikes I used to own which I still list so everyone on the forums will know how cool I am

I bet you $100 you will end up regretting it in the long run. Whether you end up high siding it or just hating it, there is regret in your future.

The ONLY BIG downside to this will be maintenance with that motor, IMO. Otherwise, do it, convert it and let me ride it.. lol

Seems like you are chasing after a really light motard to fill the place of the porky XR. Why not just get a 450 mxer and start from there? Let's just get it over with. Sell the XR and the KTM and get a 250f for motocross and a 450 for a motard.
