I finally see what those weird metal pieces are. Those at the seal springs.

That's the crank seal not the bearing. The bearing is on the inside of the cases.

What type of big end bearing are you using? I see to recall, Dave H making a comment on one thread about replacing with roller bearing?

Well I know its something inside that is jacked, because if you look at the last picture that piece of metal inside there by the crank is lodged there. Plus I am guessing this thing warped or did something to crack the case housing.

I want to say I am running a roller I know I got Dave H to weld and set the crank up

There nothing wrong, all KTM's have a few metal flakes and micro particles of metals in the oil. Many don't realize it, but it's part of the charm of a KTM. As a matter of fact, I am fairly certain that the KTM specific oil has the metal pre loaded to save time reaching "destruction". It's really quite handy.

Bummer, but just part of it.

My new to me CRF450R will be getting a rebuild this year BEFORE if goes boom, I hope.

LOVE me some tard though, can't help it.

It's in the garage now, but I think a big bore and a new crank would be nice insurance...then it can go BOOM in a bigger way.

Yes, but that will BEFORE the rebuild. I'm a chance taker like that.
