.....RIP....Was in Galveston yesterday on my way to High Island. Came across a motorcycle accident just south of the causeway that just happened within 2 minutes or so. The guy was moving and it appeared that he was Tboned by a driver trying to cross over the main road there. Being mardi gras weekend I would be scared to ride through there on 2 wheels...

There is a traffic light on 69th and Seawall so she must have been coming out of the Valero station.

three lives ruined.

, condolences all around. I might have been talking to them at the noon parade. Stay out of Galveston on 2 wheels these next weeks. I keep wanting to go riding around but I keep seeing all drunk people. This is another sad reminder of the danger.

A friend of mine came upon this accident as it happened, I've attached what he had to say about the situation. Very sad, RIP Mr. Tweedie. I hope his wife pulls through.

Quote:
Last night after celebrating my birthday, the family and I saw an accident happen right in front of us. A camaro pulled out of a gas station off the seawall strip and cut off a motorcyclist. The motorcycle hit the camaro's driver door so hard that the car spun a 180. We pulled over to see if they were going to be ok, and it was such a sad scene and it's still in my head. Both riders were not moving, there was a lot of blood underneath the woman's body. The young girl driving the camaro was freaking out, but sadly instead of checking on people she hit, all I heard her say was "omg , I just rented this car and I didn't get the extra coverage on it " really? I wish I could find out of the couple on the motorcycle made it.

I agree , 2 wheels stay away !!

I rode up to the parade yesterday , My 6 yr old son and myself on 1 bike , my wife and a friend on another . NEVER AGAIN , and I only rode from 48th in the middle of town to 45th and Seawall .

I could not keep count of the people either driving , walking , bicycling , etc etc , who had beer or something else in their hand .

It was stupid of me to do this and I can't believe I did it .

Prayers sent to all Involved in this Accident .

, just got rear ended by a family who didn't speak English on my way to the gym. That was an hour ago, Then had to call the cops because there was a car of obviously drunk middle age women at the very same intersection where this happened last night. Stay the away. Hope they get those before they kill anyone tonight.

Any word on if the rider was wearing a helmet? That is typically mentioned in articles but I can't find it.

This quote should have a link to it. Something that up needs to be verified as much as possible; at least to the original statement.

Uh, what if his friend told him what he saw face to face or over the phone?
