it could be worse....you could have purchased a used truck for stellar price only to drop about 4k into 100 miles into owning it. Was the worst lesson I ever learned. previous owner actually hid a bunch of problems and I was too impatient to wait around for the next one. Drives solid now and I'll be driving it until 2020.

drain, refill, drain and refill and then see what you have on your hands.

Never such a thing as to Manu wheelies.

Motor sounds normal, valve train is a little loud but I read that is typical of this motor. It runs really well and makes sick power now that the timing was set right.

Well big thanks to Chad (MagicMan) for replacing the cam chain. The manual cam chain tensioner was tightened all the way with the old one, and with the new chain its only in about 15%. The bike initially would start when cold, but would never start again after the bike warmed up. Now with the new chain it starts first kick when cold and after warmed up. (The kick start process took some practice) The bike is smoking a little, I assume its from the loose cam chain smacking the inside of the case and the aluminum shavings seen above tearing up the rings or nikasil, so a top end is in the distant future. For now I am going to just ride the beast. This thing makes sick power and I can yank the front wheel up in 4th gear when on the rear pegs. I got insurance on it for $77 a year and rode for a few hours today, its such as blast. Rick was right its like riding a big fiddy. I will get some videos up when I can, as I am learning balance point and slowing it down in first gear for some lot tricks. I'll keep the thread updated.
THANKS CHAD!

Well I've been riding it for a while, thing is a monster. Let my buddy ride it down the street and it magically siezed. In thinking top end locked up as I know it has been smoking a little and needed a fresh one. Trying to figure if I wanna tackle it myself or let Chad do it. It's got the dam Nikasil coating on the cylinder so that's a . Also needs new fork seals and some other attention. For as much fun as this thing is to ride its been out of commission more then on the road . Luckily I have other to break er ride in the meantime. I'm also on the third kickstand bolt as I have to stand on the bike with it on the stand to get a good kick in it. Maybe I should just buy a Grom.

This one is actually a 98 WR400, I know there are very minor differences to them but I'm hoping once I get the top end nice and tight it will be a little more reliable.

4th gear is going to go next. Murph had a 98 he used to race, it stayed in the shop getting top ends and 4th gear replaced.

nah, the worse one is when pieces of the case are missing.
