wow! I try to hold the revs between 6-8 grand when I launch the gsxr.

I was a little concerned about launching at the first round, as I made a pretty big change to the gearing - I had been running -1 -2 which was pretty tall for track use but what the bike came with. I switched to -1 +2, which is far more usable, after my endurance teammates complained about the gearing at the last TWS (Texas World Speedway) round last year.

even after the gearing change, though, the 6-8k range seems like a sweet spot for a quick getaway on this bike. (it drives off the corners a lot harder now, too. )

I won't claim my launch technique is stellar. The only times I've even attempted a launch are at the, now, 5 CMRA rounds I've attended, but I'm running 0/+4, launching at 13k, and there's just not enough first gear! I'm watching people go past screaming "where's the power?" in my helmet...then the tach climbs back north of 10k again, and I finally have some.

Awesome videos! Was happy to spectate you guys race and hopefully one day I'll be out there myself.

Quick n00b question: how did you add the lap timer and track position on the bottom left of the video?

I have a GPS lap timer on the bike (I use the AIM Solo) that stores the GPS data. I download the GPS data to Dashware, which creates the video overlay with the track layout and timer, and also allows me to synchronize the data to the video footage from my GoPro so everything lines up correctly.

There are more advanced GPS lap timers that also record telemetry from the bike (throttle position, front and rear brake application, gear, etc.), and the Dashware software can accommodate that information as well.
