Good big brother/Evil big brother: You decide

Just going to copy and paste from the ride in today thread, has the gist of it.

Good or bad for opening pandoras box and causing his $$$ to magically disappear?

Good news is I spent Sunday letting my brother ride my bike around and following him in a cage.

He grew up riding dirt with me and had planned on purchasing a bike sometime in the next year. Anyways, after Sunday the time frame for purchase got moved up to within the next week greatsuccess.jpg

i had to read it a few times but I think what you are trying to say is that your brother got bit by the bug.

Here's what you do. Sell him your bike for top dollar and then upgrade to a newer bike.

Now you can show this picture:

Lol, ya I guess I should have edited the post/made a new post to make more sense instead of just quoting myself from another thread. Thought the bold/highlighting would be enough to get my point across but guess not, I can be so fffing lazy sometimes

Basically brother planned on getting a street bike sometime this year but didn't want to put up the cash just yet, other priorities etc etc

Got him some seat time on my bike Sunday and now he is buying one this week lol, that's what the thread was about

I also told you to call me if there were any problems with the 600, and that I have a pr3 rear that I would give you for free.

Nah, he was all about it and actually talked about that bike a few times over the last week but when I showed him that it was for sale said he would rather buy a bike that has already had some $$$ put into it in mods etc instead of stock. Then just paying for some custom paint/wrap whatever.

Pot hole on 610 lol, that was pretty sketchy. Thought I told you that story.

I was planning on it but wanted to wait till after I had time to make an attempt on my own before I hit you up to fix it , plus who needs tach/speedo/gas light etc anyways lol (could use my headlight back in the quickness though lulz) the tire not holding air was a new surprise for Monday morning but yea could deeefinitly use that rear tire now and can come out to your place and get it wherever convenient just let me know.

I'm free tomorrow to help. Check the wires to the ECU under the seat. I paid a shop to fix it. Didn't happen after work was preformed.

Might head down to the garage in a minute here, yea it was weird how everything went out.

Started right when I left the house Sat AM, first lost the speedo, then about an hour later speedo came back and everything was good for a few minutes then everything on my display went out speedo/tach/gas light/im assuming headlights even though I didn't realize it until later but my brake lights and rear blinkers are still working.

How much did the shop charge?

I can probably leave the office by 3:45-4ish tomorrow but anytime in particular that's convenient for you?

I paid $250. They said if it happened again that they recommend a new wire harness. I found one online new for around $500. I will help you install it if you want. I can also mount and balance the rear tire.

How long has it been since you had them fix it? If it's likely to happen again within the next year or two I would rather just buy a new one and take you up on your offer, would be a great learning experience for me. At the same time feel guilty as fck for using so much of your free time and generosity. Beers/lunch/etc on me for foreseeable future .

Alright lets do it, mind linking or PMing me that wiring harness? Should be able to order it this week.

I will give the info to my old man, get a 20% discount on parts.

Going to go ahead and extend that to you also, next time you need some parts let me know and I will see what I can do. I should be able to save you some $$$ Old mans in wholesale.

Really, really, appreciate this Craig.
