Thumbs up Jay Newton's MSRH Thanks!!

What a weekend we had!! I'm not sure, but I think the kid surprised a few people this weekend in his Expert debut. Practice went well Friday, not the lap times we were looking for, but that is par for the course with him in practice. On Saturday in the LW Endurance, he was riding with Will Boldt, but the motor let go on the Ninja 250 shortly after the restart as he was battling for the lead in class. Then Jay and Hayden Schultz teamed up on Hayden's R6 to run the Big Bike Endurance, but without a quick dump, the pit stops cost us some time, so they tried making the whole race without a tire change. In the end, that would cost them a top five finish, but they still had a great time and finished a very respectable 6th overall. Sunday morning, Jay was extremely nervous about his first race as an Expert, but he did awesome all day. He finished P8 in CSB, P11 in F1, P2 in Rookie Expert, and P6 in CSB. He got brake checked pretty hard on the first lap of the CSB race and dropped from third to 6th, but he put his head down and rode hard. His fastest lap of the weekend was a 1:37.7. I know I am his Dad and very partial, but that young man impressed the out of me!! Thanks to JAB Motorsports, Brandon at P1, John and Raymond at South Central Race Center, and to everyone else for all the support you show Jay!!!
