i'm seriously considering just getting rid of my bike and buying a trackbike. either that or converting mine to a race bike...the street just doesn't do it for me anymore.

Yea, that asian chick was acting all hard....meh, i think thats why its called pp1, home of the squidbys. Nice meeting you too man, had fun tonight even though i ran out of gas midway

-Kyo on Houston-Imports aka Sergio.

???? How's she acting all hard??? She came to PP1 to let us know someone just died on 290 and she was all shooked up. She rides just like the rest of us. We all want to go fast. It's just a matter of who has a better sense of judgement when to slow down and when to speed. Accidents happen when ego takes the best of you.
So don't be a hypocrit and saying stuff like who's acting hard or what not. Truth is, everyone speeds at triple digits once they hit the freeways. I know I do, but it's up to the rider to limit themselves of their abilities.

Yes, we all speed, some harder than others but I just don't understand why people do it in the city or more densely populated areas. That is plain stupidity. If you just got to do it at least get out on the country roads on a weekday. The roads already are sparsely used; go a step further and do my "spirited" rides during business hours when people work and kids are in school. You can go for miles sometimes and no cars. Less LEOs too! Heck, I even sometimes avoid the popular motorcycle routes on weekends since they are often plagued with LEOs looking to catch the **** ups.

RIP Bryan. seems like we are dropping like flies here lately. My question is how the do you not miss a friggin 18-WHEELER ????

Here's the story:

http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/story?se...fic&id=5246328

Police say three men on motorcycles were weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed. One of them ran into the back of an 18-wheeler near 43rd.Street. The motorcyclist was pulled under and dragged by the semi for about 100 yards. He was killed.

A second motorcyclist also crashed, but suffered only minor injuries. The freeway was completely shut down for more than two hours as a result.

"how the do you not miss a friggin 18-WHEELER ???? "

If you are doing 100+ mph weaving in an out of traffic and that vehicle makes an unexpected lane change?

Ran into and was pulled under and dragged by an 18-wheeler - man, that had to be messy.

Ride stoopid - die stoopid.

It is why I mostly avoid these threads. I am sorry for all the loses but it upsets me such that in most cases I see the loss being totally preventable on the part of the rider had they exercised better discretion. These things affect us on so many levels. When our relatives see it, they will nag is with phrases like "motorcycles are dangerous", "you should sell it"; or, it can result in more stupid laws in attempt to protect people who act stupid on bikes from themselves. Again, sorry for the losses, but it seems that people are not learning from the mistakes of others since it still happens almost daily.

this according to www.chron.com - he clipped the tractor of the rig that's why he was pulled under and dragged.

Made the lane change a little to close to the front of the rig.

"While the motorcyclist attempted to change lanes, authorities said he struck the tractor of an 18-wheeler."

I admit I'm guilty of weaving in an out of traffic at 100+ but when an 18-wheeler is changing lanes it's not in the snap of a finger. Cars are another story, they tend swerve a whole lot quicker than an 18 wheeler to get in another lane.

Word to the wise, if you find yourself in your cage driving down the freeway and notice in your rearview mirror a bike, or bikes, coming up fast, don't try to get out of the way and change lanes, STAY WHERE YOUR AT AND DON'T HIT THE DAM BRAKES !!!!!. more than likely, in this case, the 18-wheeler saw them coming up fast and tried to get outa the way and therefore caused Bryan to run into the back of the trailer. I seen this happen before and this is just my guess on what happen. I could be wrong though :dontknow:
