I've never been fired before either. What the kick in the pants is he wants me to still do work for him just at reduced pay. hah...right. Give him the benefit of my knowledge and experience for 1/4 the money. The problem that he is going to run into is that he has basically been black balled by the other drivers in the industry and none of the quality drivers will work for him. I am one in about 1000 drivers that do what we do. Bad reps. in the industry travels fast and he has one of the biggest. We have been without a tour manager for several months now because no one wants to work for him.

no training like that. Although I don't think it would be hard to do. My parents are both in homeland security so Training like that could be tracked down fairly easily.

first thing, if you were fired then you will get nothing from U/E. If you were laid off, sounds like you were then you need to get the U/E started ASAP. It takes a few weeks for that money to come, so don't wait till you need it to apply. Once you get the U/E going start looking for long term, you never know how long it will take to get a job.

stop using the word fired. Unless you truely were fired. Which is it?

The actual words were "put on day pay". Which at that point I am cosidered a independent contractor. I guess the term layed off could apply.

I guess I feel burned and put in this situation unfairly. For a man who presents the image of being fearing and family orientated to be put here because my family got in the way when HE did not give me the 24 notice that HE told me I would get. His words when he hired me were that he wanted a family man and was glad I had kids that way his kids would be taken care of.

Take a moment to take stock of your situation. One door closes as another opens, or so I have seen.

I feel good about the situation so far. Does anyone really want to work for a person like that anyway? I know I don't. He is not as a nice of a guy as he seems in public. Great poker face. I have worked for alot more popular artists that were great people to be employed by. Needless to say I am in the process of contacting them now along with a few other leads.

Well after some phone calls and some pondering, I've decided to go freelance and do fill in work for drivers that need to get home, but the bus still needs to move. Thanks to carbonr1 for the tip and stay tuned for all the interesting groups that I go out and take money from.
