Those are corrected times for one. And yea Ricky gadson did run in the nines with both bikes lowered and strapped too the max and I believe -1 +2 gearing. So if you drop your bike to the point that the belly of your fairings is on the ground, gear it, and become a pro then yea its possible. Other then that shoot for mid 10's. My friend has a GSXR 600 that is lowered with 2" ground clearence, -1, +2 gears and a slip-on. Best he has run I believe is a 10.65. Give or take a little but it was a 10.6 something.

he must not be launching that thing very hard 'cause 10.6 should be doable on a stock bike launched hard.

Still learnin. Think his best 60' was 1.73 or so. But thats kinda what I am sayin, there is a diff between people who go to the drag strip once and a while, people who go regulary, and pro's. Its all in seat time. But I see no way someone can take a STOCK 600 into the nines, or even 10.0 without being a pro rider.

definitely not bone stock....with a pro rider and lowered to the ground, maybe so. But definitely not stock with Joe Shmoe on it.

Was stock motor, geared and lowered, pro pilot, either 9.87 or 9.97 I think. But again it was Ricky Gadson. I got the mag. somewhere around here when I find it I will post up the actual story.

So, what's a pro rider worth? Back in the 80s Motorcyclist (I think) had Pee Wee Gleason (pro rider for Turbo 1 on a Z1) was invited to run some 1/4 miles with the staff. He was .3 to .5 seconds quicker than the folks who tested bikes for a living, who are usually quicker than the average owner.

He must have had a rough youth with a name like that. I guess some people just have a natural talent for things. I heard also that the average female has a better reaction time than the average male. Maybe thats why we're seeing more females in NHRA events.

I am skepticle also, but who am I to say. I sure as can't do it, but that does not mean a pro can't.
I read that same article, it was high 9's with a pro rider lowered front and rear on 636.

To all the guys throwing money..

Lower by bike for me - and i'll show you 10s. Stock motor, only proper gearing and GP shift .

Oh and you gotta raise the bike back up aswell..

Laterz..

PS: BJ i think you have way too much time on your hands..

save your time, it wont happen, hp to weight ratio is wrong unless you weigh 90lbs.

We're talking running 10s here - not 9s. 10s included everything from 10.00 to 10.99 :laughing6

It's soo doable - i'm not even sure why we are debating this.

With proper gearing, its really not "un-achievable". Maybe you should try it on an R6 rather then a GSXR600
