VFR800 is back

Well, it looks like Honda is going to bring the updated VFR800 to the USA after all. It won't appeal to all-out performance riders but for those like that want a little more Tour with their Sport, it looks pretty nice. I'll have to take a test ride and see how much they "softened" the vtec transition.

Sounds like a great bike.
That price tag is kinda steep, but hopefully they'll discount them.
Otherwise, will just have to wait for a used model.

Not as odd as a CBR with a twin

That's how I got my 06. Bought it in January 08 for about $1500 off msrp. The specs say just preload on the forks, so it sounds like the same damper rod forks as the 6th gen. Severely lacking in rebound and compression damping.

And I like the 650F idea. Sporty looking and hopefully decent performance but more comfortable for casual riding. And probably better low rpm torque than the 600 at the expense of a sub-150 mph top speed (I'm saying that's a good thing). I read a few months back that Honda estimates that over 90% of the CBR's never see a race track so this bike would seem to cater to that.

86hp. At first I was thinking it was based on the F4i engine but that would be a large HP loss. At any rate it will still walk all over the Kawasaki 650 twin and it looks better.

The VFR will be hard to sell at that price. I love that model though, my friend had an older gear driven one that was a beauty. Technology demonstrator and ultimate sport tour ride.

Then again, in 1 of the pictures, it sure looks like a compression damping adjuster on top of the preload...
