Motorcycle Critical Mass?

Looks like motorcycle riders are taking a page out of bicycle riders.

http://miami.cbslocal.com/2014/01/30...romote-safety/

What's your take on this?

Seems like a spin off from my Criminal Pass idea to protest the unequal rate motorcycles pay on toll roads.

You're really obsessed with this critical mass thing. WHat is your ultimate goal with this whole protest thing?

I don't think I have called anybody, anything.
It's not that calling somebody a drama queen is so bad, it's that you have made a big deal out of defending critical mass with a passion, frequently claiming that those who disagree don't understand. Inferring that it's over our heads or that we just don't get it. I think it's possible the reverse is true.
Then you start another thread, again dragging critical mass out, obviously stirring the pot. And then you call somebody else a drama queen?
Maybe some quiet introspection is in order. Ask yourself why this is so important to you in spite of the fact that very few have spoken up in support of your arguments. Sure, going along with the popular view isn't always the best way. I realize that the majority can be wrong.
But it isn't common. Usually when most people feel a certain way about a subject, it's for good reason.

In any case, I'm not bitter at all. In fact, the subject means little to me except that it makes very little sense to have bicycles in traffic. Maybe if the city had been designed from the beginning to include bicycles as a common means of transportation it would be different.
As it is, this country pretty much gave up on bicycle infrastructure when Henry Ford introduced mass production to the world. People stopped using bicycles for daily transportation and consequently the roads were built with cars in mind.
Unfortunately, we didn't amend the laws to take bikes out of the equation as we went along. Now there are quite a few riders that abuse the laws allowing bicycles on roadways by failing to follow traffic laws, occupying entire lanes (I've even seen bicyclists take up the whole road out in the country) and often restricting traffic flow.
Now the more militant have cleverly gotten the casual riders to join them in a protest by giving it a cool name and turning the whole thing into a rolling party in the name of trying to sway public opinion in their favor.
I predict if it continues it will backfire as the ignorant masses that don't understand and just don't get it, will push back. When they do, critical mass will go away, just as any ill conceived "protest" should.
Maybe someday, someone will be able to sway opinion of the unwashed masses to break loose with public funds and build those bike paths and bike lanes you hope for. Maybe critical mass will get the job done. Maybe not, time will tell.

yeah sorry...drunk posting.

Anyways the whole "idea" is a joke. All it would do is arouse more contempt for the motorcycle community. Everyone is "aware" that there are motorcycles and even bicyclists on the roads...they just don't give a . Do you think rubbing it in their faces is going to suddenly make them care more?
