Well again, I see more guys (squids) on motorcycles without gear than I do with. It's not that it's "scooter riders" as a whole, it's just amount of fools, same with motorcycles.

But going back to the original point, scooters are a blast to ride, and awesome to have. It's just knowing what to have, which is the same for anything really. I mean we've all seen those cheap Chinese motorcycles sold at local shops, and if you haven't go check em out lol.

I guess it's what you make of it because I tune the out of my mopeds and scooters, and well have a blast doing it. I guess if you don't like doing your own wrenching and tuning than they may not be the thing for you.

I have a Yamaha Zuma that on a good day will/did hit 62. It is a blast to ride. I take it down to the beach quite a bit on the freeride weekends.

And to ride that thing around town and blast by people doing 40-45.. "dude you just got passed by a scooter!!"

I've always hear them called "liquor sickles". (In NC all the liquor stores are state owned. at any time you can almost guarantee to see at least one, sometimes multiple liquor sickles at the package store.)
This made me lol. I'm from NC as well and I remember my dad laughing at a coworker who was stuck riding a moped for a year after a DUI

I really enjoyed reading this thread guys. If I can sell my three motorcycles I'll be buying a scooter. My wife loves riding with me to. I'll be the guy with a full face helmet and old black riding jacket. My wife has the same full face helmet as me and a pink leather riding jacket, much newer. Ride safe.

Because they have a use.

Great MPG for people needing them for getting around. In a small town like lets say Cleveland TX you would be set since everything is so close by.

And if you're not in a small city there's the big scooters that still get good MPG.My Honda PCX 125 was nimble, easy to maneuver anywhere and not jerky like a big bike.

Not everyone wants to ride a big heavy bike
Not everyone wants to learn how to gear shift
Not everyone wants the power of a big bike
Not everyone needs the power of a big bike

And so on..

Ride through med center and the Heights to show an example to all the other flip flop scooter riders.

I was passed on 337 by a guy wearing flip flops and cargo shorts. Pretty sure he wasn't on a TMAX though.

Tell me you really want a "purpose" to ride this, and can't just love it for fun.
