Best in helmet Bluetooth

I'm looking to get a Bluetooth system for inside my helmet. No earphones will stay in my ears, and after 3 years, I'm over it.

I was looking at the Sena SMH10R but some have baulked at the separate battery... I don't think it's that big of a deal. Does anyone here have it?

What about the Sena SMH10? Or really anything else you guys may have, let's hear about it!

Trish, although they are more expensive, consider custom made ear pieces. These are the same type musicians use and people requiring hearing protection from gun fire, etc.

Two options that I know are ultimate ears (http://pro.ultimateears.com/) and big ears.

I use the SENA SMH-5 and love it. If you main concern is personal audio and cell usage don't spend a ton of money. I would splurge though and get the better speakers for another $25.

I've got an Uclear HBC100plus installed in my helmet. I like the "boomless mike". I normally listen to podcast from my phone, which automatically interrupts if a phone call comes in. Carrying on a phone conversation is no problem up to legal speeds.

Yes, all Scala rider com sets pair up. You might have to call customer service to do it if you don't have the manual.
They won't pair up with a different brand system to my knowledge though.

I have the SMH10 and love it. I have it paired with both my iPhone and a Garmin Zumo GPS. I did a saddlesore 1000 last November and used a SR10 Bluetooth hub to also pair in a CB so I could talk to the other guys in the group. Someone asked about comparability between brands. At the moment nobody does it, but Sena have promised it n their next version which is due shortly.

I got a deal through advrider.com and paid about $5 more for my SMH10 than retIl price is for an SMH5.

I'm waiting for the Sena s20. Same features as smh10 plus fm radio and compatibility with other headsets... not sure how they'll pull this off, but that's what they say.

I personally use a Viper Ride Smart-V131 bluetooth helmet for commuting and such. It is heavier than my other lids. It is also modular.... but it gets the job done. It plays music, and lets me answer calls and all that.

mine was also pretty inexpensive.....

From a reliability point of view, the Scala Rider G9 series is great. I've sold a ton of these already and only have had 1 warranty issue. Cardo's customer service is also very good. Some of the other brands such as Chatter Box do not hold up well. The newest model from Scala is the G9X and will be available very soon. 20% off suggested retail if your interested.

That's what I was thinking of doing... plus Bluetooth 4.

My question is how it's going to be compatible with other headsets. Is it only going to be other Bluetooth 4 headsets? (which I assume)

I'm looking to put this on an Arai corsair V btw....

Honestly, the Arai and the RPHA10 are the 2 only helmets I have found that fit my head in an XS... Which is probably why I have problems with headphones... when I pull the helmet on, the wires get pulled sometimes and the headphones are pulled slightly out of my ears. Then, going down the road, turning my head pulls them out the rest of the way, and within 10 minutes all I have is wind noise.
