Agree that was the point. This is basically welfare for cars and trucks wr pay a disproportionate share.

I think the safety aspect would be a better angle. Keep bikes out of dangerous gridlock traffic. Thats just me though.

this has been rehashed several time here. The people in charge will insure that it is never paid off. They have on going maintenance, new routes to develop...

At 250. With the membership and noise about this, I was hoping there would be more response.
If you want change you have got to act. Tho those that have signed thanks.

No was not referring to Flippy tags. LOL

Well 3999 responses on your post were yours right. Just kidding.

It is depressing I see more energy put into critical mass threads, threads about grapes(well that was worth it though), and some others that I am stunned. Any way next steps for me because I believe I need to do it with or without the support I was hoping for is to:
Meet with them in person
Get on the radio
Lastly stand in front of the commissioners court again.

I like these comments on the petition page:

"I agree that motorcyclists pay disproportionately in tolls and fees. Motorcycles and scooters can be a sensible part of the transportation mix and help alleviate congestion. If they are treated with respect and given some fair incentives, then more responsible people will choose to use them for daily transportation (as many of us already do). Labeling motorcyclists as "wildmen" only shows a willingness to give in to closed-minded generalizations. Read up on confirmation bias. Sign me up in favor of this proposal!"

"As an avid rider, I think this would inspire more motorcyclist to utilize the tolls. So instead of getting $100 from one pocket, you'd get $50 from 20 pockets. In the long run too, while generating more revenue, would spend less on repair work."

I wonder what Likely Storey would come up with in response to those.

You should show up at the next county commissioners meeting and ask him yourself

It's pretty clear from the video that engaging in any type of dialogue/question answer session is against the rules.

I'd call his office, but the secretary isn't going to let me talk to Likely Storey. She is going to send me to Peter Key's voice mail and if you actually get him on the line, He will tell you it's out of his hands.

I'd love to help out, but barring serious personal injury or death, work isn't going to accept any excuse for not showing up at this point in time.

You could read the comments you just posted from the petition page, say what you have to say, and then ask Mr. Storey what he thinks.

Burn a personal or vacation day

It's kind of a screwed up company(really it's more the nature of the business than the company)...yes I have sick days and personal days, but taking one during peak season is highly frowned upon and My boss would know It's BS
