Lurker Finally Got A Bike

New to Houston, but not to bikes. I sold my Bandit 1200 when I moved down here from Minnesota in June 2013 and the much higher quantity of traffic made me say I wasn't going to get a bike here.

Well fast forward six months and I had to scratch the itch. I picked up a ratty 1999 ZX-9R that I brought back from the dead. If anyone has recommendations for good riding roads in NW Houston let me know!

Yeah why not? I just got it street legal Wednesday, inspected yesterday, and it's FAR from finished, but here it is.

Lurker Finally Got A Bike

I really prefer naked bikes to sportbikes, and building them is half the fun.

Nice!

I like the naked look as well.

Seem like not much more but paint and powder coating. Good job!

I'm originally from Mankato in south central MN, but went to school at the University of Minnesota. I didn't get over into uptown all that much. I did love the Burger Jones over there though.

Welcome to Texas and congrats on the new to you bike! Love me some Minnesota....in the middle of summer that is! Had a girlfriend that attended Winona State many years ago and spent several summer vacations on a lake in Alexandria....some of the best relaxation spots one could ask for....smooth glass and lakes forEVER!!!!!!!

That said, we have a much better riding season down here. See ya around.
