New from Katy

Hey everyone! Just joining seeing what this is all about. I have been on the back of bikes for far too long. I am signed up to take my MFS class in February and am looking to get MY OWN bike soon. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I feel like 26 is a little late to start riding, but I'm very athletic so I hope I will be oaky!!

A few people drive to the meets, so no bike no problem just come out and have a little fun. The biggest one is the central meet which is on the first Wednesday of every month. Look for the meets in the event section, but im not 100% sure if there going to be doing a central meet in February if the weathers too cold. Also normally during the warmer months there are lots of Katy meets going on.

Thanks for all the love!!! I have a question. What you guys recomend for my first bike.. I'm pretty tall, and very athletic. I have been getting mixed reviews on going with a 250 or 300, but I think I could handle a 600. Any tips would be great.

Thanks

Being athletic only goes so far being a beginner. It really comes down to your throttle hand. Personally I think the 500 and 650 class are the best beginning bike. They are great bikes and have more than enough power to put you behind bars. As much as I like the 250 and 300 you might get bored on the streets with them and trying to keep up with the big bikes can be a pain. Not knocking them but Houston is flat and and its nice to have a little power. Finial decision is your to make so get what makes you happy, and respect the power on what ever you get.
