Put a fresh battery in your remote and change the channel so you won't panic
You're welcome

You know anyone that panicked? If so, how did this panic manifest itself?

Calling a simple cold front a "polar vortex" probably didn't help.

Althought I dont like how the media causes a panic with made up like "Polar Vortex" when in reality its called a Polar Low pressure, I do think that poeple dont think through. Just like the last thread I started about the previous winter weather warning, people are jackasses and think because they lived in antarctica or drive a 4x4 that they wont be affected. No its not as cold as North Dakota which is the problem....Ice is worst than snow but they are to stupid to realize it until they hit the gaurd rail on the freeway. With that said

Tomorrows bad weather will begin around 0900 and last until midnight. So if you can stay home....

Yeah! meteorologists and their made up
Quote:
CNN International senior meteorologist Brandon Miller answers a few pressing questions about this phenomenon.

What is a polar vortex? What distinguishes it?

The polar vortex, as it sounds, is circulation of strong, upper-level winds that normally surround the northern pole in a counterclockwise direction -- a polar low-pressure system. These winds tend to keep the bitter cold air locked in the Arctic regions of the Northern Hemisphere. It is not a single storm. On occasion, this vortex can become distorted and dip much farther south than you would normally find it, allowing cold air to spill southward.
