COTA MOTOGP: TRACK & CORNER WORKER

I was looking for ticket info for the race when I notes COTA's MOTOGP page has a volunteer form for Track and Corner worker. Wow, that would be way better than seating on the stands. Does anyone know how competitive is this process?

It wasn't that competitive, and I don't think MotoGP is coming back to COTA. Saw it somewhere or the other.

We got in to do it, so did some other people we know...at the last minute people were still able to get in. We opted to not go and used our tickets. It's probably a good opportunity. But, I think we'll do general admission this time.

Problem is, they're going to want you there Thursday evening for training and all of the other days. But, they might be able to work you I'm sure on the days to do it.

yes I worked turn 15 last year and got my acceptance email to work again this year earlier this week. It is not really competitive, last year they had to send out emergency emails the weekend of the event to get the total number of volunteers they needed. Just sign up and you will likely get to do it. They feed you twice a day, but you cover all of your expenses. They have not said which hotel they have a deal with this year, but price wise the deal last year was not much of a deal, but it is convenient because if you stay at the hotel they suggest, they send a bus to pick you up and take you back, so once you get to Austin you do not have to worry about transportation or parking. a number of folks on this forum worked it last year.

like myla mentioned you go on Thursday for training and work the following 3 days...
if you get selected for taxi driver you will need to go up Wednesday. it is long hours on your feet and the only compensation is personal satisfaction of up close and personal view of your section of the track, you do not get to walk around and see other areas. in some ways the event is much more exciting and in other ways much more limiting. for me it was worth it, but not everyone will feel that way

I think you may have to register with COTA email list. If I log through google I can't see the link but if I log through the email COTA sent me for the X games the link is under Contact.

Yes, but a friend that apparently can't keep a secrete.

Last year at the AF1 party they was asking everybody if they could volunteer to corner work....they were very short of people, sholdn't be hard to get the opportunity, and who knows...maybe Marquez will come flying at you!
