Track/street tires!

I need some new tires on the gixxer before my next trackday May 12! I originally wanted the pilot powers, but now I am thinking about the bridgestones! I will be doing a little of everything on these tires. Joy riding, trackdays and just riding around town. My question is which ones would work best for my riding!

Thanks

I want the PP!( for a reason that I won't speak of here) But I have read a lot of good things about the Bridgestones! Never thought about the M3. Has anyone used them at the track?

Good enough to take the top 5 spots today in Moto GP.:laughing6

Candie, we run the Bridgestones in the CMRA, they're a great tire!

However I don't recommend ANY race tire to be used on the street as they work in a much narrower temp range and are more sensitive to heat cycling.

The Pilot Power 2CT's work pretty well. I've got a set on my 600RR and they've proven to give decent mileage and awesome grip. That would be my recommendation.

metzler m3's are nice and grippy.....pilot power 2ct's sounds more like it would fit you better.

you get the harder compound in the center for commuting....and softer sides for more traction on the leans. i know a lot of people that use em on the track also.

Pirelli Diablo Corsa III. I have used them all, and have had the absolute vest results with them. Very to no geometry changes required, but extremwly consistant grip, even on the 1K. Patrick can give you the best prices on these. Milage is on par with the PP's, but much better grip

So the bridgestones are only race tires? I didn't realize that! Now I feel dumb!

well....the bridgestone bt002's are their race tires.....i think that's the only good tires that come from them. i've had previous bridgestone street tires like the bt014's, and i won't use em again. but their race tires sure are nice.

for street, i'll stick with michelin

Incorrect.

They are a company just like Michelin or Metzler that makes both street and track tires.

I recommended the Pilot Powers to you only coz you want to alot with your tires, joy riding to cruising to track time.

Pilot Powers is the best choice.

Patrick - yea i know today the `stone got lucky

The BT002's are a race tire, the BT014 are their street tire.

They do offer a "dual compound" trackday tire, just haven't had a lot of feedback on it though yet.

Moe,
They've been getting "lucky" a lot lately!
