RIP Roger.....

Roger was one truly great guy that could bring laughter to the table. It hurt so bad to see him laying there knowing there was nothing you could do to bring him back. I just wanted to see him move or do something and let us know that he was fighting for life but..... nothing.

Unfortunately (and hating) I was leading the ride on the way back from Brazos bend park. Roger and Cajunsolja were following right behind. We were definitely going at a brisk pace, more than we needed to be. As I proceeded to make a sharp right hand turn I noticed a bike coming the opposite direction. I saw the guys face and the girl holding on. You could tell for that instant moment that they were just enjoying the ride. I quickly looked away and was focusing on the exit point for my turn. As I headed down I made a few more sweepers still going full throttle ahead. Once I came to the end of the few turns I looked back and nothing... I waited about 30 seconds and decided it was time to head back and look for everyone.

As I came upon the main stretch, I could see a bike parked to the left, it was cajunsolja..... then I proceeded and saw a mangled mess halfway into the sweeper. I quicly parked my bike and saw 2 bodies laid out on the road. It was the couple I saw in that turn. It was shocking.... the guy was very pale, no shoes on, and was already turning colorless. The girl was on her side with her head hanging motionless staring at the concrete. People were checking her pulse and confirmed that she was alive. Then the other told me something I never wanted to hear... Roger's gone..... I couldn't believe it.... I saw a few guys hovering over him in the ditch. I couldn't believe what I was seeing... I was praying that it wasn't real... There was nothing that we could do to bring the two guys back.... we just waited and waited and waited before authorities started getting there. The girl started to breathe on her on and I was praying that she would make it..... but sadly they got the call that she passed away on life flight.

this is something I could never wish to anyone but it was just so sad to know that it was someone that brought so much happiness to us. Just 20 minutes before that we were all cuttin up and laughing at the restaurant talking about all kinds of stuff. I kept telling myself, that I so wished I would have slowed down for that turn and set the pace... or maybe at the uturn at brazon bend, we should have chilled and took a smoke break to maybe eliminate the fact that innocent people were taken out due to our stupidity. But its to late.... now all we have are memories... The girl was leaving tomorrow to go back home to her family in Norway... and the guy had just gotten here from Oregon.. it hurts to know what a split second can do to you.

I dont know what else to say about this but... Roger you were loved by many and were a great person to be around. I thank that he brought you into my life and into the lives of many others. Rest in Peace brotha

Thanks man... we all have our clicks of riders but when its all said and done.. anyone on 2 wheels no matter how you ride them are still family in a sense. It's just hard when it hits this close. We were still suppose to have our own SW BBQ to get Roger outta the house. sucks....

My prayers are for his and the other riders family and friends

R.I.P, I am shocked to hear what happened. Los, you guys were sitting in the restaurant chatting and watching the races. I did'nt see when you guys leave. I pray, each time i take my bike out,for the good lord to send his angels for my protection. One never knows when his number is going to be called. To all the families, Sorry for your loss, My prayers are with you all.
